REACH tools and services available from reachsupport.eu Need an exposure scenario translated? Reachsupport.eu has developed its own tool to allow the simultaneous development of exposure scenarios suitable for communication that can also be produced in up to 10 of the most common European languages. According to article 31(5) of the REACH regulation, Safety Data Sheets shall be supplied in the official language of the member state. Since exposure scenarios are an intrinsic part of the extended SDS they also should be translated in the same way as the core body of the SDS. As well as developing new exposure scenarios, the tool can also be used to retrofit existing exposure scenarios into the required form to permit subsequent translation. The format of the exposure scenarios follows that of the ECHA guidance but can easily be customised to suit clients’ requirements. The tool has been used to produce multilingual extended SDS exposure scenarios for a number of clients and consortia.

Reachsupport.eu has also developed an audit tool that can be used by downstream users to check that SDSs from suppliers contain sufficient information to ensure that they meet their obligations as users. The tool runs through a set of questions and asks for information provided by the supplier to ensure that all required information is present to reflect the specific uses of the recipient. At the end of the process, the tool produces a short report that can be put on file to demonstrate, in the event of an inspection from a competent authority, that the user has met their obligations as a downstream user. At present, the tool focuses only on substances. We are making this tool available to users within the EU. If you are interested, please use the contact form to express your interest.
Don't forget our online scaling tools that can be used to scale tier 1 exposure predictions, both dermal and inhalation as well as environmental. The downstream user audit tool mentioned above also includes these utilities.
